Walsh Bay Arts Precinct Celebrates Make Music Day with Marrumbang and The River Langford Band at Sydney Dance Company’s Mr Jones Café

Australia’s newest cultural precinct, Walsh Bay Arts Precinct, celebrates Make Music Day on Tuesday 21 June with a lunch-time concert featuring performances by First Nations musicians and bands, Marrumbang and The River Langford Band at Sydney Dance Company’s Mr Jones Café from 12-2pm, supported by EORA College TAFE NSW.
Founded on Gadigal lands, Marrumbang perform soulful takes on popular music as well as fresh originals, fronted by Darlene Proberts, a proud Wiradjuri woman with powerful vocals; Lizzie Keys, from the Woremi Nation; James Mcauley from the Gamilliroi nation on the drums and Wiradjuri man Phil Bragg on lead guitar. The River Langford Band has played across several of Sydney’s favourite venues, led by multi-instrumentalist River Langford from the Gumbaynggirr Nation on drums, with Jack North on keys, Charlie Sics on Bass and Dylan Laver on Guitar.
