The Young Ones by The Young Ones

We’re a group from Sydney, Australia that call ourselves “The Young Ones”. We do guitar/ukulele jamming on Zoom weekly and in person once or twice monthly. We recorded this piece, “The Young Ones” originally by Cliff Richard on Monday 11 April 2022 at a member’s residence in the suburb of Castlecrag in Sydney.

Padma Ciel | A ballad for all the sheep, cows, goats and other animals who are sent on ships to die brutal deaths in countries overseas. That’s if they don’t die onboard the vessel. Feeling helpless to stop this crime against other species we are left to wish we could make them all escape, make them disappear to find safety and happiness. All life is precious.

Concertinas Go Bush in Harmony | A trio of concertinas play two sets of tunes from the Australian bush dance repertoire: two waltzes (When Clouds Have Vanished & For Love of Lorrie)  followed by two Schottishes (Ollie Watt’s & Joe Yates). This video was inspired by a recent challenge from Concertina Convergence – a group of concertina players from around Australia.

Robin Lowe| Did You Live A Good Life (DYLAGL) is a song that challenges people to examine their lives and the sort of person they want to be remembered as. It was written through the eyes of a Paramedic that deals with people at the end of their life.

Lost Dogs of Ultimo | Distant Memory is a Collaboration track from Lost Dogs of Ultimo and Ric Newell (Emotional Park Vandals) especially recorded at Bounce Studios Melbourne  for Make Music Day Australia.

Both artists have worked together in the early 90s recording and touring in a number of bands but have recently been able to get together again after a long break on individual projects

Carlos Camacho | Ultimo Tren A Londres. Based on Last Train to London, this is an electronic track with an uplifting vibe. It has a cosmopolitan and Australian multicultural feel to the music, with a buoyant and happy beat. it is an original composition.

Total Recall | Video Killed the Radio Star

Total Recall is a Sydney based covers band playing exclusively 80s music – the best decade of all! We pride ourself on our high production values and that when we play live it’s 100% live – with no backing tracks. Our aim is to bring back the childhood memories fo all Gen X’s and entertain the Y’s and Z’s at the same time. This is our cover of the famous Buggles tune which we recorded and filmed insolation during one of the many lockdowns. So much fun and such good music. Enjoy.
