Make Music Brisbane presents Kabuki Kombi

Entertaining, quirky, a bit irreverent and occasionally poignant, Kate and Bernard write songs that butter a bit of pop on top of a rich cake of gypsy jazz rhythms and anything else that takes their fancy. Their narrative lyrics draw on every day life, people they’ve met and the occasional TV show but are always written with a wry grin.

Kate and Bernard came together through their shared love of cabaret and theatre. Both have separately played and sang in many bands, choirs and shows. Each recognised the other as a kindred wanderer and have created Kabuki Kombi to explore their passion for song writing.
