‘Join Us In January’ is an exciting new campaign to help community music groups, choirs and bands attract new members and make more music!
For the entire month of January, Make Music Australia will be helping music groups of all kinds promote their January event, or run a recruitment drive to encourage members to come along during the year.
Who can register an event or recruitment drive?
Anyone! If you have a group, band or choir of any size in any location around Australia you are welcome to create your own Join Us In January campaign.
How do we participate?
- Decide if you are conducting a recruitment drive or holding an event for new people to join in.
- Register your recruitment drive or event on our website (examples of both kinds of listings can be found below)
- Wait to receive your registration kit from Make Music Australia
- Utilise the provided resources (logo’s, images, poster and press release templates) or work with us to run a joint campaign.
- Promote your campaign on Social Media and via your email contact list and to your local media outlets.
Please note: 2026 is the pilot year for the Join Us In January program. If you have an idea of how this campaign could work specifically for your needs, please reach out. We are open to all suggestions and available to help you make more music any way we can!

**Both Events and Recruitment Drives are managed through the Make Music Day Calendar, so please disregard the references to Make Music Day throughout the submission process.**
When submitting an Event, select the start and finish time of the event on the day it is being held.
When submitting a recruitment drive, select the start date and click all day event, then change the end date to a day in the future. This will display your recruitment drive as happening over a period of time rather than on a specific day.
Feel free to also send social media links and images that you would like used in your promotion to emma@makemusicaustralia.com.au
