Fete de la Musique – WeRculture

June 21st, known as Fete de la Musique is known globally as a day to celebrate all forms of music. In 2020 Fete de la Musique will be completely different due to restrictions introduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.. This year the UNESCO Cities of Music have come together in an act of solidarity with artists to share their music. On this special day, the  Cities of Music of UNESCO Creative Cities Network have prepared a musical feast with a special broadcast of over 20 music cities from five different continents. Adelaide, the first and only City of Music in Australia, will curate a program of talented musicians from across South Australia including Adam Page, Nancy Bates, Emily Tulloch, Belinda Gehlert, Ross McHenry, Josh Baldwin, Django Rowe and Brenton Foster to showcase the rich and diverse city of music. Join us for this global celebration of music!

Care Packages for Ensemble Offspring

By

Join the famous art music ensemble Ensemble Offspring for an innovative online LIVE STREAM – SUNDAY JUNE 21st @ 6pm: www.hibernationfestival.com.

Presented by the HiberNATION Festival of the Lo-fi this will be a wonderful, weird, inventive and ultimately comforting musical unboxing session…

In 8 simultaneous live streams EO will perform an “Arty Unboxing” of Care Packages prepared by mystery composers.

The mystery composers are right now preparing these packages and sending them to EO, who will open them and perform the contents live on stream. Will they play, sing, read, dance or just knit? We don’t know but it will be fun to find out. And you will become the conductor, switching the windows on and off to  create your own version of this curious sound happening.

Gunnedah Online Music Eisteddfod 2020

By
Given the cancellation of most eisteddfods and performing arts festivals around the world this year due to COVID-19, the Gunnedah Eisteddfod Society has established Australia’s first official online eisteddfod! The Gunnedah Online Music Eisteddfod 2020 is open to competitors nation-wide, and provides an incentive for singers and instrumentalists to keep practising and performing.
In keeping with the government’s current restrictions, most sections this year are only for solo performers. We also have a great variety of special new sections for golden oldies (65+),  pre-schoolers, performers with special needs, sibling duets, Indigenous Music, and the fabulous ‘Family/Household Entertainment’ section where you can get creative with everyone in your home – and be in the running to win some great prizemoney!

All competitors will receive encouraging and insightful feedback from our expert adjudicators: Paul Jarman, world-renowned musician and composer, will again adjudicate the vocal and instrumental sections; and internationally-recognised trumpet-player, Phill O’Neill, will adjudicate the brass sections.
Visit www.gunnedaheisteddfod.com.au for more information – registrations close midnight Wednesday 13 May, with video submissions due 10-21 June 2020.
