Four Winds Artistic Director, internationally acclaimed classical accordionist James Crabb talks with Scottish Violin player Chris Stout. During this 30 minute Video-Cast, James talks to Chris about the musical life on the Scottish Shetland Isles, what it was like growing up there, musical traditions and strong Scandinavian influences on Shetland life.
During the Video-Cast James and Chris will perform together. Firstly a gorgeous Shetland traditional tune called Da Trowie Burn. The tune captures the mood of Trows – which are friendly, small troll like mythological beings. James and Chris will be joined by Scottish Harpist Catriona McKay for a second musical collaboration. Together they will perform a piece composed by Catriona called Louise’s Waltz.
This Video-Cast is the first of 6 which Four Winds is creating. They will be released over the coming weeks and are free to view via the Four Winds You Tube Channel as well as the Four Winds Website.
