Artist talk with Lisa Oduor-Noah and Miriam Lieberman in the Bondi Pavilion Theatre

June 21, 2023 @ 6:45 pm - 7:10 pm

A talk with two talented women who will share their musical journeys, and cultural influences as singer/songwriters. Currently touring internationally, Kenyan singer-songwriter and producer Lisa Oduor-Noah will be in conversation with local folk songstress and kora player, Miriam Lieberman.

Oduor-Noah is a true musical shape shifter with undeniable presence and an intoxicating voice performing soulful jazz pop originals with her dynamic band. A Berklee College of Music graduate who tours around the world inspired by her cultural roots, Oduor-Noah hopes to be an agent of hope, healing, and connection through her music.  Oduor-Noah has collaborated with several well-known African artists including Blinky Bill, Kato Change, June Gachui and Sauti Sol and performed at the Global Citizen Festival last year in New York’s Central Park, the Shanghai Jazz Festival and Coke Studio Africa.

Local musician Miriam are soulful collections of stories beautifully told through kora (West African harp), guitar and her unmistakable voice. Lieberman’s musical style is inspired by her transformational time studying music in Latin America & West Africa.
