Art Gallery of NSW | Live music : Meteor Infant

For this year’s Make Music Day, Liam Keenan and guitarist Helena Massey of Meteor Infant perform a live intimate set in the 20th and 21st century art galleries alongside Untitled (2008), a painting by Angelina George.

Meteor Infant is a musical project by Gomeroi singer songwriter Liam Keenan. Keenan’s music is embedded with nostalgia and a longing for home, like a lost soundtrack filled with childhood memories. His sound sits alongside contemporary American indie superstars like Big Thief and Grizzly Bear, but it’s the symbiosis of lyrics, melody and musical themes of landscape and travel that make Meteor Infant equally at home beside iconic Australian bands like The Go-Betweens and The Triffids. Meteor Infant releases a new EP in late 2021, on Broth records.

Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, the event is now held on the same day in more than 1000 cities in 120 countries and celebrates the joy of music-making and the ability of music to bring people together.
