By February 28, 2020News

Make Music Day in its second year in 2019, made great strides to becoming a significant national event. Over 150 locations from Christmas Island to Hobart hosted hundreds of events. From the Sydney Opera House to libraries to arts centres to someone’s front porch. Make Music Day saw the involvement of government bodies, local councils, schools and community music organisations, music retailers and industry, and importantly, members of the community.
Make Music Day encourages both amateur and professional music making, and empowers individuals to seek out ways to celebrate and express music in their community. All of it is free and open to the public.
We estimate over 4,000 performers of all abilities got involved in Make Music Day Australia 2019. And it’s on again – June 21, 2020.
